倫敦地下鐵『Northern Line』部份車站將關閉17個星期

倫敦鐵路局在去年宣佈，將會在今年1月15日起，London Underground（倫敦地下鐵）的路線Northern Line，其中的幾個鐵路站將會被暫停使用，關閉17個星期之久。今次的大型關閉行動，是因為TfL準備投放£7億來提升現時的Bank鐵路站，計劃完成後該站的容量會增加40%，然後將舊的Northern Line隧道和全新的隧道連接起來，還會在Cannon Street增設新的出口。

將關閉由Kennington至Morrgate之間的鐵路站，這些包括：

• Elephant & Castle
• London Bridge
• Monument
• Bank

在關閉期間，乘客需要尋找替代路線，因此估計其他的線路會受到連鎖反應，例如：Jubilee Line、Waterloo & City Line 和 Circle Line ，將會比平時更繁忙。倫敦鐵路局亦為關閉路線，設立臨時巴士線733，行走於Oval 和 Finsbury Circus 之間（只限在星期一至五）。

全新的鐵路站將會在5月份完工和啟用，但新增的出口將要等待至今年年底才會完成。
