早在今年初，已傳出政府在3月24日起廢除現有的抗疫措施，將英格蘭回復正常。英國首相Boris Johnson在早前的議會上正式確認，要把英格蘭回復在瘟疫發生前的狀況，而計劃比預期更早，他打算在2月尾實行。
首個國家停止抗疫限制
他表示當其他國家還在強制性地懲罰市民，要求隔離和向他們罰款的時候，英格蘭要行一條與別不同的路，讓苦苦抗疫2年的市民能放鬆下來，得到應有的回報。
現時唐寧街正努力準備最新指引，會在該項計劃開始前向市民公佈詳情資料。據悉自我隔離規定將會被停用，但仍建議『確診』人士避免到辦公室上班，留在家中工作。
當作流感看待
首相說現時確診指數正在下跌，是時候結束這一切限制。但並非鼓勵生病還上班，他說：即使是一般流感都不建議他們上班，所以當患上任何傳染病都不應上班（理應請病假）。而免費檢測服務到目前為止仍被繼續使用，但預計會在某個時候被取消。
專家表示擔心風險
蘇格蘭政府不滿首相通知時間太短，認為未能有足夠時間配合，但保守黨派又不斷向首相施壓力，期望可儘速回復正常，並要首相承諾未來不再有抗疫限制。 現時由原訂的3月24日解除隔離規例，現在提早整整一個月，有專家擔心一下子走行太快、行得太遠，存在著極大風險。
