阿富汗內戰引起局勢動盪，英國政府決定出手，打算5年內接收2萬5千名難民。部份難民已到達英國，因此市政府正準備撥款，向居民租借/購買房屋用作安頓難民。難民的平均家庭人數是7人，最大的家庭有12人，所以需要多房間的大房屋，才足以應付居住問題。
