由Rightmove進行的年度民意調查『The happiest places to live in Britain 英國生活得最快樂的城市 2021』名單出爐了。在2021年，英國人面對失業、資源短缺、通貨膨脹、至親好友死亡等各種生活問題，仍然能被選中為頭10位，絕對是非一般的城市。
Rightmove向21,000名的居民進行調查，了解他們在自己居住的城市，對各方面的感受和快樂指數。這個快樂指數是根據以下的標準來衡量和計算：
- 友好程度
- 社區互助精神
- 能否做回自己
- 綠化程度
- 發展技能的機會
- 學校、餐館、商店、體育設施等資源配給
去年2020年被選為生活得最快樂的城市是Cornwall的St Ives，讓我們看看今年哪個城市能獲得第一。

Hexham為何能成為第一？
首先是房價，從房價來看Hexham的平均價格是£297,088，比較全英國的平均房價£342,410要低；其次相對起第二位的Richmond，Hexham的平均房價只是Richmond的4分1。
Hexham雖然只是一個小鎮，但裡面擁有多個超過800年歷史的建築物，令整個城市充滿著獨特氣息，再加上人與人之間的友善互助精神，這就是Hexham最吸引人的地方。
在社區設施方面，有公園設施、板球場、網球場，而市政府不時舉辦免費活動，例如：免費音樂會、煙花節活動，非常熱鬧。
最快樂城市的共通點
在今次的調查研究中發現，排名上都是小城鎮居多，這樣的小城鎮，通常都是有優質綠化環境，而且居住人口較少。
調查中更發現有超過三分之二的被訪者，在去年搬到了其他的地區生活，當中有64% 的人覺得現時居住的地方令他們感到更快樂，而有80%的人認為從城市裏搬到小鎮是更快樂的。
