來自美國的Costco，以批發價格大量的形式出售貨品，對於現時處於生活水平高賬的英國人來說，的確可以節省不少的生活開支。可惜並非所有人都可以隨意進去買東西。
Costco是會員制的，共有5種類別的會員選擇，入會的條件大概分為三種：

| 公司/企業的經理 或 經營者（老闆） 申請時需要出示過去3個月內的 文件證明： – VAT 註冊證明 – 公司註冊證書 – 的士司機車牌 – 市政府頒發的營業執照 – 商用的銀行卡/支票薄 – 公司的銀行月結單 – 公司的水電費單 – 會計師的信件 – 公司為職員購買的保險證明 – 公司為公眾購買的保險證明 | 商用會藉 Trade / Trade Executive |

網上購物平台
雖然入會網上平台購物無須特定的職業要求，而且會費較便宜，但平台上只能有限度地購買到一些乾貨食品 和 傢俬等，加上價格比實體店貴，倒不如去Amazon購物。
入會Costco困難
英國工作行業種類之多，Costco卻只接納十多種行業的人士成為會員，想入會的確非易事。但最近Channel 5 的一個節目內透露，原來還有一些另類的方法可以入會。
無須特定職業也可申請入會
Channel 5在節目中表示，曾聽說傳聞兩種另類的入會資格，將可入會成為個人會藉（Individual ）價錢£33.60的會員：
- 購買 AA 或 RAC breakdown cover（拖車服務）
- 加入成為 National Trust membership ，並持有任何一款的美國運通卡（可即場申請）
是真的嗎？
對這個傳聞半信半疑的節目製作人，為了解開這個疑問，於是親身打電話給其中一間Costco的客戶服務熱線了解申請會員資格，結果獲職員證實以上的講法都是事實。其後再向其餘全國28間查詢，獲另外3間的回覆確認事實，而其餘25間卻未有回覆。
所以如果各位想加入Costco成為會員，但非從事這些行業又非老闆，可以試試這個另類的方法！
