現時英國貨車司機短缺，有駕駛訓練學校提供免費培訓，期望帶動年青人入行（有關免費培訓可閱讀此文章）。可惜免費培訓推出的地點有限，即使想入行，亦因為昂貴費用而卻步。
大家有沒有想過除了貨櫃車司機外，也可以成為巴士司機？當然現時巴士司機年薪與貨櫃車司機相比天淵之別，但公司福利和免費培訓是非常值得各位考慮。
巴士司機福利
初入行的英國貨櫃車司機，平均起薪點只有£24000，只因近幾月的短缺危機，令平均年薪大幅增加（仍要看入行長短而定）。而巴士司機的起薪點在£21000 至 £24000（視乎地區），相較貨櫃車司機不會相差很遠。
2020/21年，英國主要城市，巴士司機的時薪如下：

PSV或PCV駕駛執照
要成為正式的巴士司機，必須有PSV是公共服務車輛（Public Service Vehicle）/ PCV是乘載客人車輛 (Passenger Carrying Vehicle)牌照，這兩個牌照沒有什麼分別，都是用作駕駛16座以上的車輛（屬於D和D1項）：
- 16座或以上的小型巴士（Minibus）
- 公共巴士（Bus）
- 旅遊巴（Coach）
一般在外自費上課進行培訓和考試，需要£1,000 至 £3,000不等（視乎地區）。
PCV考試分為3個重點：
- 筆試 Theory (包括 hazard perception)
- 案例研究 Case studies
- 路面駕駛的能力測試 Driving ability & Practical demonstration
入職的要求和條件
想成為巴士司機，條件很簡單，他們的入職只有2點：
- 18歲以上持有英國正式車牌的人士
- 至少1年的駕駛經驗
