駐香港英國領事館在Twitter 發文，表示有很多申請人的子女在1997年7月1日以後出生，並考慮到他們的年齡已超過18歲，不符合受養人簽證的定義，因此發文表示會考慮有關情況，會酌情處理該家庭的申請，為申請人的18歲以上的子女/受養人提供簽證。Credit by UK in Hong Kong from Twitter。
97前 或 97後出生，沒有BN(O)公民護照
所以各位不論在97前或97後出生，因各種原因而無法獲取BN(O)公民護照的人士，可按照簽證提供的條件下，以受養人身分與家人一同簽證，以獲得在英居留的資格。
