自能源短缺後，英國出現連鎖反應的經濟問題。先在今年初零售業大幅通賬，然後有汽油價格不繼飆升（至現時為止，一綫城市已升至超過£2一公升的汽油費）。市民生活開支不足，便要求公司加人工，多個工會團體因未能成功爭取加薪而大搞罷工，先後有地鐵、火車、巴士正在進行罷工，缺乏交通工具影響了市民生活。
英國航空加入罷工行列
剛剛又一工會團體表示將會發起罷工，今次是英國航空業的龍頭 – British Airways英國航空。他們共有兩個工會：GMB 和 Unite unions 發起投票表決是否進行罷工行動，結果兩個工會成員人數的95%（分別是81%和63%）表示支持參與。這意味著將有700多名工作在倫敦希斯路機場（Lodnon Heathrow Airport）的空中服務員和地勤人員在夏季旅遊高峰期的日子，或許會離開崗位進行罷工。
罷工日子未定
工會發言人表示，今次的罷工行動主要是為BA員工爭取，拿回在Covid病毒蔓延的期間被減去的10%薪金。對於現時航空業回復正常，但薪金卻仍沒有回復至之前的水平，認為是不公平和不合理的。工會還沒有宣佈確實的罷工日期，因為他們希望給予航空公司一些時間，來考慮和改變想法。
受影響的程度
假若罷工開始，倫敦希斯路機場將會少了50%的當值服務員，而BA主要使用的區域 terminals 3 和 5的登機手續，或許要調動由經理來負責。最受干擾的相信是行走內陸線的terminals 5，相信會取消大部分的航班以應付其他較重要的航線。
