新型冠狀病毒早於春節期間在英國已做成一定的恐慌，最明顯就是倫敦的Chinatown唐人街，由春節至現在生意額下跌超過4、5成。在2月1日，英國首個確診個案後，有記者拍到平日最熱鬧的晚飯時段，變得尤如鬼城。
在2月12日，首個倫敦確診個案出現後，被傳媒揭發這位華人沒有聽取NHS建議留在家中等候，自行乘搭UBER的士到急症室求醫，讓傳染率增加。加上每個在倫敦街頭出現的華人都帶著口罩，讓排華的情況變得更嚴重。
在英國傳媒訪問唐人街食店時，店主親眼目睹有英國老婦人對著帶口罩的華人女子作出指罵，亦有華人孩子在學校內被孤立。因此各唐人餐廳或外賣店均張貼告示，說明店內的職員和廚師在過去多個月沒有到中國，與病毒劃清界線。
英國確診病例9個中，有8個已出院
截至今天2月20日，不計鑽石公主號郵輪的兩名確診的英國人，在英國確診病例9個中，有8個已出院，只有倫敦首個案例仍在住院。而首個在英國York發現的確診案例後，這20天並沒有發現被傳染個案。這些好消息相信會讓排華的情況減低。
正確使用口罩和聽取NHS建議
排華的情況出現，在英華人是責無旁貸。華人中不論有病沒病都使用口罩，讓人錯覺你染上疾病。以下是大家一直存有的錯誤觀念：
❌錯誤觀念一： 帶口罩防止病毒入侵，這是錯誤的。在外國這低密度的地方城市，只是有病患的人才帶口罩。使用口罩是為了防止病人把病毒傳染給別人，而非防止病毒入侵。要防止感染病毒，要勤洗手，不要用手觸碰面部。回家後要洗手和更換出外的衣物。
❌錯誤觀念二：病人帶了口罩可以上班、上學或到處溜走，這是錯誤的。在外國，患病者應請病假留在家中休息，不應該到處走動把病毒傳染給別人。
❌錯誤觀念三：自行坐車到診所或急症室就醫？對於新型冠狀病毒來說，這是錯誤的。因為各下可能在坐車的途中已把病毒傳開去，加上診所和急症室內的病人和職員一同等候看診，在這些密集和封閉的地方是很容易把病毒傳開去。
如任何人有疑似病毒徵狀，請：
- 留在室內和避免與其他人接觸（因為會把病毒傳播出去）
- 致電NHS 111，並告知他們你最近旅行到過的城市
- 如果各下在北愛爾蘭，請致電你的GP。
政府要求各位跟從最簡單的流感指引，盡可能避免與其他人緊密接觸。不要上班，上學或到任何公共場所。亦應該避免讓任何人到訪（探訪），即使是朋友，家人還是送貨司機。致電NHS, 他們會幫助和照顧你（藥物、食物或用品等）。情況嚴重者，NHS會派醫護人員接送你到醫院。
