英國The Department for Work and Pensions 工作與退休金部門（DWP）將被下放更大的權力，對沒有支付子女撫養費的離異父母，強制性使用追蹤腳帶。
限制不負責任的父/母的出入自由
父母離異或分開，小孩的撫養權歸屬於其中一方，即使另一方沒有撫養權，但仍須為子女的生活所需分擔費用。有很多處於貧窮環境的父母，利用子女申請福利 – 兒童撫養費（Child support payments）。但事實上，父/母從DWP獲得撫養費資助後，並未有向撫養權一方交出費用。這些無視孩子沒有負起經濟上責任的父/母，很可能會被限制他們的出入自由。
囚犯追蹤腳帶
DWP將有權通過追蹤腳帶監控他們的所在位置，並阻止他們外出。 部門相信新的行動有助 DWP 收回這些欠款。
這款追蹤腳帶與囚犯佩戴的相似，以查出他們的活動位置，確保被追蹤者遵守個人規則。假如被發現沒有遵守規則，DWP將可以把他們送上法庭，法庭可能會延長宵禁令，或甚至判處監禁。
據 BirminghamLive 報導，CMS（Child Maintenance Service） 去年收集或安排超過 10 億英鎊的兒童撫養費（Child support payments），現時DWP的權力可以沒收護照和駕駛執照，以及收入扣除令等，以對付拒絕支付子女撫養費的人，但未及見效。相信這追蹤腳帶絕對可以成為關鍵武器，阻止他們出外吃飯、去酒吧 或者度假，起真正的阻嚇作用。
貧窮家庭的小孩
英國其實有很多兒童都處於非常貧困的生活，他們在冬天沒有足夠的衣物，有些甚至長期營養不良，但主要原因是福利部門的政策過鬆，導致這些父/母無視子女的健康。根據數據顯示，Child support payments 每年幫助大約為 140,000 名兒童擺脫貧困，數目之多。
