英國小知識 – 單車

在英國，使用單車 (自行車）代步的人越來越多，但原來在路面規矩不少，一不小心就會被票控罰款。

行人路上騎單車

馬路上騎單車 (自行車）感覺很危險，可否在行人路上騎？答案是：否。根據《高速公路法例》規定：“行人道上騎自行車是違法的。”， 根據1988年附表3第51條《道路交通條例》的法例，在行人道上騎單車 (自行車）將會被罰款£50， 最高可被罰款£500。

但12歲以下的兒童在行人路上騎單車 (自行車）是可以的，不違法的。

馬路上騎單車

那麼在馬路上騎單車 (自行車）就是合法吧！？也不一定，在馬路上必須要跟從道路交通規則，如果危險駕駛單車可能被罰款最高£2500。

騎單車 (自行車）的道路交通規則有：

• 需要跟照交通燈信號指示，在紅燈前需要停下。在等候時紅綠燈時，需要在交通燈後方但該道路的最前端停下。要注意班馬線必須讓行人先過等等。
• 騎單車 (自行車）時盡量使用單車徑（非必須），在馬路上靠左邊行走（轉右除外）。
• 顧及馬路上的汽車和狀況，在轉彎時需要注意後面車輛和適當地打手勢。
• 超車和被超車都是合法的。
• 單車 (自行車）是不限車速
• 單車 (自行車）必須裝有安全的煞車裝置
• 在夜間行駛時，必須裝有前燈和尾部裝置紅色的後反光片。
• 禁止騎單車（自行車）人士抓緊正在行駛的車輛或拖車。
• 嚴禁危險，粗心或無禮的方式騎單車（自行車）。
• 禁止酒後或使用過藥物後騎單車（自行車）。

使用手提電話或聽音樂

暫時英國沒有法例禁止騎單車 (自行車）人士使用手提電話或聽音樂，但假設因此而出意外還是會被票控危險駕駛的。

載乘客

一般的單車（自行車）是不可以載乘客，這是違法的。除非單車（自行車）本身已裝置合適和安全的前/後座，才可以乘載乘客。
