全新的倫敦地鐵站在今個星期一（9月20日）早上正式啟用，這是本世紀最大的延伸工程，首次把這條有80年歷史的Northern Line進行鐵路延伸。將Northern Line擴展到Nine Elms地區，為Northern Line增設多兩個站：
- Nine Elms Station
- Battersea Power Station
這次延伸能有助於提供新工作和居住地點，估計在未來十年內，可為社區增設25,000份新工作 和 發展20,000個新房屋。
大批市民到場支持開幕
自1999年Jubilee line的延伸工程後（Green Park 延至 Stratford），22年後再次延伸鐵路，由Kennington站延伸至Battersea Power Station 途經 Nine Elms站。
在星期一早上5時28分 Battersea Power Station正式啟用，大批市民為試搭新鐵路站的頭班列車，一早到場等候。
