倫敦工會The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) 確認，工會內的1萬名成員將於下週二和四（3月1日和3日）進行罷工，今次的罷工由當天凌晨開始至第二天的凌晨，所以估計將嚴重影響鐵路的運作和所有線路。倫敦交通局 (TfL) 警告說，倫敦地鐵可能在這兩天無法提供服務，預計星期三和五的服務也會受到嚴重影響。
裁減引起大罷工
今次罷工的主要是抗議倫敦交通局，他們決定削減 500 至 600 個地鐵站職位以節省開支，同時還審查現時很優厚的退休金計劃。工會認為政府是故意設計今次的倫敦鐵路的經濟危機，來協助TfL來削減工作、服務和安全，令工作條件和退休金受到威脅，才決定舉行這次大罷工。工會還指出過去兩年的抗疫時間，冒著個人風險來服務市民，他們只想捍衛自己的生計，才作出罷工的決定。
倫敦交通局 (TfL)指出今次裁減不會令員工失業，只會通過自願性離職或退休來進行裁減。
倫敦的交通工具3月份起加價
由今年年初起，倫敦交通局 (TfL)已多次放風指他們出現經濟危機，例如：由Boris Johnson在位倫敦市長時推出的巴士要被停用（因為沒有錢維修），由於政府拒絕撥款，因此宣佈在3月份起加價。
