英國將會推出新的網絡法例，色情網站必須驗證用戶的年齡，確定進入網站的用戶是18歲或以上人士。
過早接觸色情的資訊和內容
英國有研究報告指出，顯示11-13歲的青少年都看過色情內容。有經常接觸該類型兒童的專家表示，兒童過早接觸色情資訊，扭曲了他們對性的看法，讓孩子們錯誤地認同行為，即使被侵犯也不懂得告知家長。
如何確認觀看人士年齡？
現時限制18歲或以上人士的網站，只會在進入網站前簡單地要求用戶聲明『本人年齡已超過18歲或以上』。這做法對出於好奇的青少年，通過自己的手機是極容易進入色情網站，家長亦未必能察覺得到。
當這法例通過後，網站有必要加設更多驗證的功能，來確保進入網站者已年滿18歲，例如：證明使用者擁有信用卡 或 通過第三方服務的資料來確認年齡，相信能有效地阻止青少年進入色情網站。
違例網站將被重罰
法例將會在未來數月內提交和通過，過往只有商業性的色情網站被監管，當法例推出後，所有色情網站都將會被同時監控。
假如網站不為所動 或 沒有依照規定設立網站，最高可被罰款全球營業額的 10% 。除了罰款，亦可被監管機構 Ofcom 中止其網站在英國出現 和 被追究刑事責任（可以被判監）。
