今年倫敦鐵路發生多宗火警意外，這些都是由現時漸被廣泛使用的 e-scooter 電動滑板車引起（雖然現時在道路上使用仍是不合法的）。
10月份，一輛電動滑板車被乘客遺棄在車廂後著火，令列車終止行駛，全部乘客最終被迫在Parsons Green station下車。這些電動滑板車使用質量差的電池，當短路時產生火花，繼而著火並發出有毒的濃煙。

Transport for London (TfL) 全面禁止電動車
事情不斷的發生，令倫敦鐵路局 Transport for London (TfL) 在沒辦法下，宣佈決定全面禁止電動車進入鐵路內的任何範圍。不論是收起了、摺好的，還是手提著的電動滑板車(e-scooter) 或 電動獨輪車（e-unicycles）都一律禁止帶進或出現在鐵路局其下沿線的交通工具內的任何範圍。
Transport for London (TfL) 指的交通工具範圍是包括：
- 地下鐵 Tube
- 巴士 Buses
- 地上鐵 Overground
- 火車 TfL Rail
- 電車 Trams
- 輕鐵 DLR
違例者可被罰款最高£1000
電動滑板車(e-scooter) 
電動獨輪車（e-unicycles）
TfL’s trial rental scheme
現時倫敦唯一合法的，只有『TfL’s trial rental 租借滑板車試行計劃』內的公司提供的電動滑板車，才可以在道路上行走。現時共有三間公司為試行計劃提供租借電動滑板車服務，他們分別是：Dott，Lime 和 TIER 。所以即使倫敦鐵路局沒有禁制，亦不應使用電動滑板車。
