阿米特博物館是一個獨立的博物館和圖書館，由Mary Louisa Armitt於1909年在Cumbria郡的Ambleside成立。它是英國法律下的註冊慈善機構。
博物館內有大量關於Lake District 的歷史物品和圖書展出，圖書更超過11,000本，涵蓋了Ambleside地區和湖區周邊的和自然歷史的書籍。當中較有知名的作者有：Mary Louisa Armitt，William Wordsworth，Harriet Martineau，John Ruskin，Frederic Yates， Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley 和 Kurt Schwitters。
此外，Peter Rabbit的作者Beatrix Potter 在生前也曾捐贈多本其著作和繪畫給博物館。而她死後的珍貴遺物也同時捐贈給博物館，包括她繪畫的自然歷史水彩畫和她的個人“小畫冊”的副本。
