歐盟已同意，英國脫歐後持有英國護照的旅客，將永久免簽證旅行 – 即使現時還沒有落實方案
歐盟領導人已同意，英國遊客今年夏天可以在歐洲免簽證旅遊，即使英國脫歐還沒有落實。前往歐盟及其周邊地區可長達三個月免簽證。
因為英國脫歐協議中的混亂，對已預訂度假旅遊的人來說，這決定是非常重要的一步。
這協議將會在英國退歐3月29日之後開始啓動，相反英國也已經為希望前往英國的歐盟旅客做出類似的承諾。
歐洲議會委員會，在今週表示支持免簽證旅行，該決定今天由歐盟大使簽署。
歐盟簽證豁免期長達三個月的短途旅行，目前世界上約有60個國家，從阿根廷到日本再到烏克蘭，都受惠於該免簽證系統。此簽證豁免是專為商業和旅遊而設計的，不授予在歐盟地區工作的權利。
歐盟理事會發表聲明說：“大使授權理事會主席就此立法提案與歐洲議會展開談判。 根據歐盟的規定，在互惠條件下給予免簽證。
英國政府也表示，英國並不打算要求前往英國的歐盟公民為短期逗留而簽證。英國航空公司的老闆Willie Walsh今天表示，離開歐盟是不會影響乘客數量。他說：“我仍然相信，我們將看到英國和歐盟之間就航空問題達成全面協議。“我對這很有信心。”
