英鎊每天都接觸和使用，當中可能有些稀有而有價值的硬幣。看看現時有哪款式的50p和£2是最有價值和最稀有的。
2009 Kew Gardens 50p
首位依舊是Kew Gardens 50p為最稀有的硬幣，十年前只鑄造21萬枚。當年為了紀念Kew花園成立250週年而發行，這些硬幣在eBay上的售價高達£160。
設計上選用著名的中國寶塔，寶塔周圍環繞著藤蔓，兩旁標有1759年和2009年的日期，而底部則標有“ Kew”字樣。雖然Royal Mint已重新鑄造及發行來慶祝50週年，但始終還是2009年版本最有價值。
2002 N. Ireland Commonwealth Games £2
為慶祝北愛爾蘭在2002年加入英聯邦運動會而推出的£2硬幣，只鑄造了485,500，使它成為£2硬幣中最稀有的一款。而當年一套4 款的其他硬幣（威爾士，英格蘭和蘇格蘭）也很受追捧，如果你擁有整套硬幣，就更有價值。
2002 Wales Commonwealth Games £2
繼北愛爾蘭，威爾士是第二款英聯邦運動會較有價值的£2硬幣。當年只鑄造588,500， 現時價值已經升了十倍（價值£20）
2015 Navy £2
為紀念皇家海軍在第一次世界大戰中的努力而發行的£2 硬幣, 現時已升價5倍（價值約£10），之前曾在eBay上的售賣高達£100。當年只鑄造了65萬枚，同樣非常稀有。
2015 Britannia £2
這款Britannia£2硬幣設計上使用了1997年前一直在硬幣上使用的舊“技術”設計，而這個設計只鑄造了65萬枚。因此令它成為市面上第三稀有的£2硬幣。
2002 England Commonwealth Games £2
雖然相對北愛爾蘭和威爾士價值較低，但這款『英格蘭』當年只生產 650,500枚，還是較為稀有（蘇格蘭是價值“最少”的一款，市面上只有771,750枚）。現時價值大約£10。
2017 Shield 50p
這款帶有皇家紋章的50p 硬幣是最常見的設計，但2017年鑄造是特別稀有和有價值的。皇家造幣廠鑄造了180萬枚這款硬幣，雖然聽起來很多，但實際上2017只佔總數的一小部分。現時這年份的硬幣可能不至於令你致富，但隨著時間越長，預計它的收藏價值可能會越高。
這年份的50p 在eBay上價格為£34.95。
2017 Sir Isaac Newton 50p
艾薩克爵士是第三稀有的50p 英國硬幣。比起2017年皇家紋章50p 的鑄造量多1500枚。現時升值大約十倍 (£5)。
2016 Jemima Puddleduck 50p
這個來自 Beatrix Potter 故事的 Jemima Puddleduck被譽為（一套共五款中）“最稀有”和“最有價值”，因為皇家鑄幣局宣布2016年該款硬幣只發行了210萬枚。與該系列的960萬枚Peter Rabbit硬幣相比，這硬幣更難獲得。最近在Ebay上被拍賣的價格為£15。
2003 Suffragettes 50p
這枚硬幣是慶祝婦女社會和政治組織成立一百週年的紀念幣，其設計特徵是舉著旗幟的女參議員。當年僅鑄造了3,124,030英鎊，在eBay上的售價高達£14。
