全球氣候暖化，塑膠在提煉、製造甚至棄置的過程中，都會產生大量的溫室氣體（二氧化碳），比汽車碳排放高出很多倍！因此英國政府致力減少使用塑膠原料，他們在4月1日增加徵收新的稅項 –『Plastic Packaging Tax 塑料包裝稅』，來阻嚇企業和消費者減少使用塑料包裝。
零膠樽 – Detergent refill station
有了『Plastic Packaging Tax 塑料包裝稅』 的影響，令英國企業願意向環保之路走前多兩步。Lidl 成為了英國首間超級市場推出洗衣液補充站 – Detergent refill station，循環再用洗衣液膠樽，減少製造垃圾。
試用階段
現時只是試用階段的洗衣液補充站，設立在Kingswinford 店內（鄰近Dudley），並打算試行6個月。假如試用成功，將計劃全面推行。
顧客使用補充機購買洗衣液，將可比原價節省20p，雖然不是很多錢，但卻可以為地球減少59克的塑膠垃圾，是非常有意義的舉動。Lidl亦相信這項活動能為每間店減省2,970個膠樽。
使用方法
首先，需要先購買一個使用在補充機的洗衣液塑膠樽，機器只能識別到這個已安裝了芯片的專屬膠樽，其他膠樽是無法使用在補充機。這個專屬膠樽可在補充機旁找到。
透過輕觸屏幕，揀選機內提供的4款洗衣液，價格如下：
