近年留意到多了很多Accelerated degrees（簡稱『速成學位』），究竟什麼是『速成學位』？
『速成學位』其實是將一個原本3年的本科學位的課程，濃縮成2年（蘇格蘭的4年課程濃縮為3年）。與傳統學位無異，課程內容是相同的，但是由於假期相對少，因此可以更快完成課程（不同的大學課程結構將有所不同）。
速成學位有什麼優/缺點？
『速成學位』可以在短時間快速完成學位，讓你儘早畢業並開始職業生涯。其次，可以節省課程費用和至少1年的住宿和生活上的費用。特別適合19歲以上，由職場重回校園的工作者，以短時間完成進修，儘早重回職場。
但從另一方面看，緊迫的課程安排將令你更少的時間去做其他事情，例如：兼職工作、暑期工作或賺取工作經驗等， 還要犧牲部分假期。在沒有上班、沒有時間兼職工作等情況下，本身在經濟上有資金的支持，同時須兼備良好的心態，來面對失去生活上的平衡，才能全身投入『速成學位』。

現時已有多間英國大學開辦『速成學位』課程，有以下大學：
- Staffordshire University
- University of Salford
- London Metropolitan University
- University of Greenwich
- Middlesex University
- University of Gloucestershire
- Leeds Beckett University
- University of Buckingham
『速成學位』有什麼收生要求嗎？
收生要求與一般3年（或蘇格蘭的4年）課程無異。如學生在『速成學位』中途想轉回普通模式也是可以的。
