一名由英國倫敦希斯路機場出發的男子，正準備前往美國紐約探訪女友，由於無法上網Check in機位，只好到現場登記，登機証上竟然印上 “SSSS”，原來他被選中為『Secondary Security Screening Selection』。
登機証上出現”SSSS”
這名男子向傳媒透露事發經過，在出發前一晚，他嘗試到航空公司的網站上登記機位，但網站不斷重複出現 『Error錯誤』的訊息。於是只好到現場櫃檯登機。當航空公司職員詢問排隊的乘客是否完成Covid所需的登機要求時，他向職員提及無法在網上辦理登機手續，於是職員將他帶到其他櫃檯了解情況。
當職員輸入護照號碼，便發現其登機証上印有 “SSSS”，這表示已被選中需要作額外的安檢程序。職員安撫他並表示無需擔心，這只是純粹隨機揀選出來，只需在離開倫敦前（上機前）完成，不會在紐約再進行搜索。

當進入登機閘口，職員看到登機証上印有 “SSSS”，便會帶你到屏風後面進行二次安檢，當時除了他還有其他乘客被選中。過程中海關人員會再次仔細的檢查行李箱並打開你所有的手袋背包，還會搜身 和 檢測有否爆炸殘留物。最後需要詢問關於這次旅程的詳細資料和計劃。

自從911事件，機場安檢措施越來越嚴謹。這個二次安檢，特別抽查往返美國的入境者，更針對某些特定的旅客來進行額外安檢，例如：只購買單程機票、使用現金購買機票 等人士。但最常見是沒有特定，只是隨機抽查。
