英國人愛狗如命，為怕傷害到狗隻（特別是小狗）的氣管，很多人都棄用頸圈改用胸帶，但其實已經違法。為何在英國帶狗上街必須戴上頸圈？
頸圈的作用
因為頸圈的主要用途是附有主人的姓名和地址的資料，假使狗隻戴上狗頸圈，但沒有刻上資料，同樣是違法的。
最高刑罰判監6個月
根據蘇格蘭和英格蘭在 1992 年訂立的《狗控制令》規定，規例上標明：狗隻必須戴上刻有主人姓名和地址的狗頸圈。現時最高刑罰是被判監6個月和£5000罰款。
狗頸圈會傷害小狗的氣管
對於某些狗，特別是Yorkshire terriers 這些小型犬，使用頸圈加上拉狗繩的時候，壓迫它們的氣管不良狗隻健康。所以各位如果怕傷害狗隻健康，或可同時使用狗頸圈和胸帶。
