英國政府表示將提供10,500個『Emergency Visa 緊急簽證』的簽證名額，為解決英國嚴重短缺問題上的一個臨時計劃。期望能為英國企業帶來5000名貨車司機和 5500名家禽相關工作的工人，以解決今個聖誕節的短缺危機。
緊急簽證的有效期非常短
這簽證主要吸引歐盟的貨車司機和工人，讓歐洲人以緊急簽證再次入境英國，賺取較高薪酬。
可惜此簽證的期效非常短，只有3個月（有效期至聖誕節前夕12月24日），相信這點會令不少歐洲貨車司機卻步。
現時英國短缺的清單
英國進入前所未有的短缺災難，在貨車司機、工人、Co2等 短缺的情況下，出現了什麼連帶影響：
汽油短缺
在貨車司機短缺的影響下，無法將汽油送到加油站，因而出現汽油短缺。市民在汽油短缺恐慌下，連日來加油站出現排長龍 或 暫停營業等現象。

肉類供應
Co2可使用在屠宰前令動物昏迷、肉類保鮮等。Co2短缺，影響肉類供應。

碳酸飲品
缺乏Co2，無法製作碳酸。因此令有汽飲品短缺。
傢俬供應
IKEA宜家傢俬回應，自從國家封鎖後（national lockdown），英國人對傢俬有極大需求，尤其是床褥。但由於工人短缺，加上運送原材料困難的情況下，令傢俬供應一度出現問題。
啤酒供應
今個月頭，JD Wetherspoon（連鎖式酒吧）發表聲明，由於貨車司機短缺，因而未能提供啤酒表示歉意。
聖誕樹🎄
雖然還未到聖誕節，但已出現流傳，表示今年的聖誕樹會在短缺的情況下，以非常高價出售。這主要受工人和貨車司機短缺影響。
