現在有機會！政府在今日正式推出「Help to build」的申請，過去只曾聽過Help to buy，什麼是Help to Build? 如何 Help to Build？
全新計劃 – Help to build
首次置業計劃（First-time buyer scheme）的全新項目 – Help to Build，能為想自己親手建造自住房屋的人實現理想。想申請的人，首先要有能力拿出5%的資金（土地的租金/價值＋建造房屋總和的5%）；相對一般情況，銀行將要求至少25%的按金來說，更容易負擔得起。然後根據政府名單內的合資格的貸款公司安排按揭事項，再進行申請Help to Build。
Equity loan
你只需拿出5%作為按金的原因是當中有部分是Equity loan。Equity loan是由政府借出的免息貸款，成功申請者將可獲5%-20%的Equity loan，而倫敦地區最高可達40%。Equity loan在頭5年可獲免息，在第6年起開始支付1.75%的利息。而第7年便要根據消費者價格指數 (CPI) 通脹率，在每年的4月份增加至少2%的利息。
借貸金額
Help to Build並非想借多少有多少，申請的金額上是有限制。整個建造房屋的總金額不能超過£600,000，假如你已擁有土地來建造房屋，總金額便不能超過£400,000。而建造房屋的時間表，必須在成功申請後的3年內起開始。借貸機構將會定期檢查建屋的進度，並分段發放借貸。
申請要求
除了5%的資金，申請人還需求合乎以下的要求：
- 18歲以上的人士
- 合法居住在英國的居民
- 有能力在Help to Build 註冊借貸機構中，獲得自建抵押貸款
以下人士將沒有資格申請：
- 過去 2 年內，曾獲得Help to Build 的貸款幫助
- 仍未還清從其他政府房屋計劃中的借貸
