在封城期間因各種因素（大學生停課、可在家工作、變種病毒），各城市的市中心地段需求起了變化，倫敦有不少地段的租盤被退租/凋空，但也有城市的房租不降反升。
根據Rightmove分析由2020年2月至今年2月，有些二線城市的租盤需求急升，比起曼城的一線城市高出一倍。

由於需求下跌，倫敦、曼城和原先很受『打工仔』歡迎的Coventry租金下降。Coventry下跌了16%，而London是這件事上的最大受害者，下跌了30%。
