英國政府再對各城市進行Tier標準評核，根據最新感染數字，英國中部、東北和西南部將要被升級至第四級（Tier 4）抗疫指數。此外亦有城市需要進入Tier 3 ，全部升級行動在12月31日00:01正式開始。
Tier4 的限制：
- 非必需品商店、健身室、髮型屋、美容院禁止營業
- 不能進行探訪，即使是聖誕節
- 只可因學習、工作、看醫生、出席婚禮/葬禮、有限度的運動、購買必需品才可出外
- 可為家人/朋友帶小孩
- 不能過夜
簡單來說，Tier 4 就是想居民待在家中，沒什麼事都不要出外。
