曾為全英國最大的百貨公司的「Debenhams 」，擁有二百年的歷史，但由於去年的瘟疫蔓延影響下，令這種舊式欠缺新意的百貨業重創，一蹶不振，最終在去年十二月宣佈賣盤 。
雖然已在1月份被時裝品牌Boohoo以5千5百萬買入，但Boohoo不打算做實體店，只做網上銷售。因此他們必須對店內貨品進行清貨，用作還債。很不幸地，Debenhams 遇上政府封鎖城市，令他們無法對店內的貨品進行清貨。
終於政府對非必需品商店解封，在下星期一（4月12日）讓商店重開。Debenhams 便宣佈將重開英格蘭和威爾斯中的97間分店，進行「執笠」大清貨。蘇格蘭的分店和位於倫敦Oxford street的旗艦店將不會重開。屆時店內的時裝和家居用品會以最低3折（70%off）發售，而化妝品、護膚品和香水等將會以低於5折出售。
今次的「執笠」大清貨最多只進行一個月，Debenhams 的分店將會在5月2日至最遲5月15日逐一關門，在英國百貨業的歷史上劃上句號。
