自從2017年，位於North Kensington的Grenfell發生嚴重火災後，銀行對高樓住宅的按揭申請非常嚴格，亦因此越來越多問題樓宇被發現。今次樓宇主角是位於Stratford的 Olympic Village奧運村。
Olympic Village 奧運村
在2012年因英國主辦的奧運會而建立的『Olympic Village奧運村』，當時奧運村建造的樓宇是用作運動員的宿舍，隨著奧運會的完結，單位漸漸被賣出成為英國人的住宅居所。
其中一名夫婦，在2014年與發展商分佔業權（發展商佔30%) 以£390,000購入位於Stratford 的East Village(奧運村)的2房單位，並在2017年購回其餘30%，成為全權業主。在2019年尾，夫婦二人打算享用政府免樓宇印花稅的優惠，打算出售和搬家。當時與買家已達成樓宇出售協議，很可惜買家在銀行申請房屋按揭時，因為沒有『External Wall Fire Review 外牆防火評估報告』(EWSI) 的情況下，無法批出按揭申請。因此夫婦只好對房屋進行EWSI檢測，但得來的竟是壞消息，該樓宇除了外牆存有易燃物料（現已拆除），他們的木製的陽台也存有問題。
雖然政府承諾支付拆除ACM層的費用，但他們和鄰居都不知道還有沒有其它存在問題，現時這對夫婦除了不能出售該單位，亦隨時面對龐大的維修費用。
過往Emily也曾發表類似文章，指英國住宅建築出現防火問題，而導致業主無法續約房屋按揭，甚至需要支付龐大維修費。有打算購買英國樓宇（特別是全額支付的你們），記謹要求業主提供EWSI 檢測的記錄 或者 建議大家選購20年以上，樓高低於4層的樓宇，以避免購入問題房屋。
