烏克蘭抵抗俄羅斯的攻擊已持續了十多日，數百萬市民帶同小孩逃離烏克蘭。有1.5百萬人選擇逃到鄰近的波蘭，其餘40%烏克蘭人則逃難去其他國家，而英國是其中之一。根據BBC新聞公佈的資料，現時大概有1000名烏克蘭的難民抵達英國，英國更設立『Homes for Ukraine scheme』來協助安置難民。

英國在脫歐後，將無須像歐盟國家一樣提供3年無簽證居留權給烏克蘭難民，但基於政治壓力和人道立場的理由，英國特意為烏克蘭難民開設一條新的居留渠道『Ukraine Family Scheme』，他們在英國居住/居留的親人，可以以個人名義/企業名義資助烏克蘭難民申請留英3年簽證，這簽證可允許工作、使用公共服務和申請福利。
Home Office在 twitter上公佈申請數字，截至3月7日為止，已有17700份申請『Ukraine Family Scheme』來英國。

今次的難民以女性和小孩為主，為協助她們在英國生活，政府推出『Homes for Ukraine scheme』，呼籲市民伸出援手，將空置的房間/房屋免費提供給烏克蘭難民居住至少6個月。特別呼籲那些酒店、業主們、 B&Bs民宿 和 Airbnb 民宿等，希望支持參加今次收容計劃。
每月£350作為『感謝』費
議員Michael Gove 宣佈計劃細則時表示，為了感謝幫助收容難民的市民，將派發每月£350給參加計劃的人士。各位可以以任何方式（通過社交媒體、慈善團體）招收難民入住房屋/房屋，並在3月14日（星期一）起，通過政府網頁申請每月£350的感謝費。
