經過兩個月的時間，英國國家鐵路局仍未能與火車工會達成協議，國家鐵路局只能提出加薪4%，相對現時的通賬，真是少得可憐！因此兩大火車職工會打算在8月份這個旅遊旺季期間，進行進一步的罷工。假如國家鐵路局與工會未能在下一次罷工行動達成協議，將會非常影響8月出遊的旅客。

倫敦地下鐵罷工
倫敦地下鐵在8月也有罷工活動，他們打算在8月19日星期五，進行一次24小時的罷工活動。
The RMT 工會表示罷工原因源自倫敦交通局（TfL）拒絕交出英國政府向交通系統撥款的草案細節。並給予限期，要求TfL在8月2日前承諾提供工作、養老金和工作條件的保證，否則罷工將會照原定計劃進行。
